A Cursillista (Lay or Clergy) wishing

to serve as a Candidate Sponsor should:

 

• Have been a Cursillista for one year (Note – after 6 months, co-sponsor with a "long-time" Cursillista).

• Have attended a 4th Day workshop.

• Have completed and signed a Sponsor Application form (Note - Only one form is required, even if more than one candidate is being sponsored).

• Nominate a candidate who is an Episcopalian, or is attending an Episcopal church.

• Obtain the signature of an Episcopal priest or Spiritual Director who knows the candidate, and who will sign the application.

• Provide a $75 Sponsor fee and a $25 Candidate fee for each candidate.​​​​

• Pray for their candidate(s) before, during, and after the Cursillo weekend.​

• Discuss the weekend with their Candidate(s), including general information about activities and participation, the nature of the accommodations at The Claggett Center, and any physical, dietary, or medical accommodations that the Candidate(s) may require.​

• Provide or arrange for transportation of the Candidate(s) to and from the weekend, including a meal on Thursday night prior to arriving at The Claggett Center.​

• Discuss the participation in activities after a Cursillo weekend. ​

• Assist their Candidate(s) find a permanent Group (or group themselves with the new Cursillista(s) and an Ultreya.​

• Discuss with and accompany their Candidate(s) to the Weekend Reunion Ultreya.​

• Discuss with and accompany their Candidate(s) to the 4th Day Workshop.​

• Send the appropriate fees to the MEC Assistant Lay Director (see below for address).

• EMAIL the signed applications to MarylandEpiscopalCursillo@gmail.com (see below).

 

Weekend Fees

Sponsor Fee -  $75
Candidate Fee - $25 *

* Some sponsors choose to pay this fee for the candidate as palanca.

 

ALL fees are NON-REFUNDABLE 30 days prior

to the Cursillo Weekend.
